The Research Group for Population-based Cancer Registration in Japan estimated cancer incidence in Japan in 1996 based on data from 10 population-based cancer registries: Miyagi, Yamagata, Kanagawa, Niigata, Fukui, Osaka, Tottori, Hiroshima City, Saga and Nagasaki.
