Received July 24, 1973; The antileukemic effect of No. 864 T was evaluated in twelve Egyptian patients suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia. Response was encountered in ten cases, and two were resistant. Remission lasted four months in one case, seven to eight months in five cases, 12 months in one case, 1719 months in two cases (still in remission) and one case not followed.
No. 864 T proved to have clinical value in the treatment of myleran resistant cases; seven out of nine cases resistant to myleran responded to No. 864 T. Significant difference in the activities of No. 864 and No. 864 T was not observed at least as far as the remission rate is concerned on chronic myeloid leukemia patients and side effects.
