Japanese surgeons have long been ahead of the rest of the world in the management of gastric cancer. Their success in achieving a high curative rate was always debated and even doubted by the West, until Western doctors started visiting the National Cancer Centre Hospital in Tokyo (NCCH) and witnessed for themselves the success of Japanese doctors.
